Focus Groups

Focus Groups

Focus groups can be conducted face-to-face or online. Sessions normally include 6-10 participants, who are provided with questions prior to the session, to allow them to prepare. Sessions are audio-recorded to allow the facilitator to fully engage with participants. A report is provided, highlighting key themes that have emerged from the discussion and making recommendations.

Focus groups are an excellent way to dig deeper into areas that have arisen from workplace culture survey. Focus groups are usually targeted at staff in specific job roles (e.g. teachers, classrooms support staff, middle leaders, administrative and operational support staff) but can also used with mixed groups.
